West San Jose with Lynbrook High Homes Breaks $2 Million Mark
By Michelle C. Carr-Crowe
For the first time ever, a Lynbrook High Home in West San Jose broke the $2 Million mark…in today’s volatile market.
Yes, we are still in the midst of a recession. Yes, many people are insecure about their jobs.
And yes, parents are still willing to invest significant money into a home where the perceived educational value is stellar, as it is at Lynbrook High.
It hasn’t hurt that six Lynbrook High students were semifinalists in the prestigious Intel Science Contest. It also didn’t hurt when the two finalists, David Liu and Raman Nelajanti were surprised by Intel’s “prize patrol” announcing their achievements on the Lynbrook campus. It also didn’t hurt to have a front page Local Section feature in the San Jose Mercury News about Lynbrook High’s science program, spearheaded by inspirational instructor Amanda Alonzo.
Congratulations to the new family moving in to the neighborhood at 1033 Windsor St. The six-bedroom, 4-bath, 4,956-square-foot, custom home sits grandly on a 10,950-square-foot lot. The asking price was $2.388M and the closing price reported on Feb 10, 2010 was a cool $2.080M.
One of the previous record holders was this beautiful custom-built home that Michelle and the Get RE$ult$ Team $old at 1056 Corvette in San Jose – 5-Bedroom, 3.5-Bath, 3,014-square-feet plus huge bonus room, asking $1.598M and sold with multiple offers for $1.731M in April 2007.
